Sarah
A Bit About Me
Sarah has taught Ballroom Dance in the Oklahoma City area since 2013, following her time as a TA in the Ballroom Dance program at OU. She has competed ProAm with her students in ballroom competitions across the US and in Canada, bringing home multiple Top Student and Top Teacher awards. Sarah placed in the Top 5 Teachers on the Superstar Dance Series national competitive circuit all three years she competed. She is thrilled to be an instructor at Shall We Dance? and 3Sixty Entertainment Powerhouse in OKC.
Her community involvement includes performing in fundraisers for OKC Beautiful, the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network, Edmond Chamber of Commerce, celebrating with the Oklahoma Jewish Federation, and hosting the Wags to Waltzes fundraiser for a local dog rescue. Sarah has trained with US and World Champion Dance professionals in a range of styles from American Smooth and Rhythm, International Standard and Latin to Country Western. She earned a National title in 2023 competing in Country Western in the Mixed Role ProPro Division. She recently had the amazing opportunity to work on the blockbuster film "Killers of the Flower Moon" with one of Hollywood’s most esteemed choreographers. Sarah has also trained pageant titleholders at the State and National levels. She loves the challenge of taking her students out of their comfort zones and showing them they can do anything.
Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and their band of misfit rescue mutts. She studied photography at OU; she also pursued sewing at Oklahoma Contemporary Museum of Art, where she now assists teaching. She uses this skill to create and rehab ballroom dance costumes available as local rentals. Sarah volunteers with Forever Yours Dog Rescue and visits her family in Wisconsin often.
